On March 23rd from 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. our class will visit the state capital of Tallahassee and bring our curriculum to life! The cost for the trip is $95 for students and/or adult chaperones. (Chaperones must be an approved volunteer.) Your investment is all-inclusive. It covers the cost of a deluxe motor coach to and from Tallahassee, lunch and dinner, one professional tour guide per bus, and admission costs. The only other costs you would incur on this trip would be purely optional such as souvenirs or snacks at the gift shop. In order to attend the 7th grade field trip to Tallahassee, you will need to complete the following:

- Field trip permission slip by December 8th with a deposit of $50.00
- Submit your second payment of $45 by February 9th
- Demonstrate positive behavior at LAJH (Referrals and more than 5 unexcused absences from school during the 1st or 2nd nine weeks will prohibit your attendance and you will lose your deposit)

- 6:00 a.m. Departure from school to Tallahassee. (Be prompt. Bus will not wait for you!)
- Arrive in Tallahassee 9:00 a.m. and tour the Historic Old Capitol Building, restored to its original 1902 splendor. Interpretive exhibits depict periods of Florida history, including the Bourbon era, territorial Florida and the years between statehood and session.
- The Museum of Florida History. The museum is dedicated to Florida History and also features temporary exhibits from around the world.
- Picnic style boxed lunch and then guided tour of the New Capitol Building, including stops at the House and Senate chambers. We will also see the office of the Governor. Tour ends on the 22nd floor observation deck.
- We will be seated in the Florida Supreme Court. A docent from the court will introduce the students to the way that the appellate court system works and the types of cases that make it to the highest court in Florida.
- Dinner at the FSU Student Cafeteria (buffet style!) then depart from Tallahassee and arrive back at school approx. 8:30 p.m.
